Yo!

My name is Jacob Schellinger, but everybody calls me Schell.

Before I made the switch to UI/UX Design I was a full-stack Business Application Developer with over seven years of hands-on experience building dynamic, user-focused web and mobile applications. I specialized in developing full-stack solutions that merged functionality with strong design and accessibility principles.

I have a mighty need to push myself to explore, investigate and learn what I don't know. I've had to adapt to many different code bases and industries from insurance to advertising! I've become very familiar with the SDLC and now I'm converting to a role that's more executionary.

I previously worked in Philadelphia for 2 years where I gained experience managing complex **UI components libraries** and building **responsive websites**. I also completed a specialization course in design systems, which informs my systematic approach to design today.

I’m currently working as a **Senior Product Designer** and focusing on simplifying SaaS platforms. I’m also getting more and more passionate about the role of AI in design tools and how to improve and speed up the design-to-development workflow.
